WINTER MILLER's plays include, currently: IN DARFUR the recipient of The Guthrie Theater and Playwrights' Center's Two-Headed Challenge 2006 commission under the mentorship of New York Times journalist and Pulitzer winner Nicholas Kristof and developed at the Guthrie Theater, the Playwrights Center Playlabs, Geva Theater's Hibernatus Interruptus and The Public Theatre's New Works Now. The play was in performance as a workshop production at the Public April 13- 29, 2007. She is developing the musical SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH AMANDINE with composer Lance Horne and director Josh Hecht, which has been workshopped by Theatreworks, Palo Alto. CONSPICUOUS, a commission for Keen Company's Keen Teens was performed in May 2007 on Theatre Row. Other Plays: THE PENETRATION PLAY (developed at the New Group and produced by 13P in NYC); CAKE AND ICE CREAM (developed by New Georges, readings at Rattlestick and the DR2); the short play PARTYLINES (commissioned and produced by Hourglass, produced by Synapse Prods.) THE PENETRATION PLAY is published by Playscripts, Inc. and excerpted in Smith & Kraus' Best Stage Scenes 2005 and Best Monologues 2005. Her monologue, "MOTHER TO SON" is published in Eve Ensler's anthology "A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer," out summer 2007, from Random House. The monologue is presently touring cities across the United States with the photo exhibit, Darfur/Darfur and the documentary, "The Devil Came on Horseback." Ms. Miller has written for the New York Times. A graduate of Smith College, she holds an MFA from Columbia University and is a New Georges Affiliated Artist.
