Lynn Nottage is a playwright from Brooklyn. She was granted the prestigious MacArthur “Genuis Award” Fellowship. Her other plays include Fabulation or, the Re-Education of Undine (Obie Award for playwriting), Intimate Apparel (NY Drama Critics Circle Award, Outer Critics Circle Best Play, John Gassner Award, American Theatre Critics/Steinberg New Play Award, Francesca Primus Award and AUDELCO), A Stone's Throw, Crumbs From the Table of Joy, Las Meninas, Por’ Knockers and Mud, River, Stone. They have been produced at theatres here and abroad including, Center Stage, Freedom Theatre, The Guthrie, Intiman, Mark Taper Forum, Obsidian, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Playwrights Horizons, Second Stage, St. Louis Black Rep, South Coast Rep, the Roundabout Theatre Company, The Tricycle Theatre and The Vineyard Theatre, among others.

She is the recipient of numerous honors including, Lucille Lortel Playwriting Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship, PEN/Laura Pels Foundation Award for Drama, and the National Black Theatre Festival’s August Wilson Playwriting Award. TCG has published two collections of her plays; Crumbs From the Table of Joy and Other Plays and Intimate Apparel/Fabulation.

Ms. Nottage is a graduate of Brown University and the Yale School of Drama, where she’s been a visiting lecturer since 2001.
